Identity Theft Still A Major Problem!
As many of you know already, Identity Theft is one of the most growing crimes today that both happen online and in the real world. But many things such as companies, credit watch, and other things say that they protect our identity, but is this really true? No, because many companies have already failed in protecting their client's information, they say they can protect our information, but in reality, there is always a way to get into our accounts without us knowing or them, or maybe sometimes the thieves get lucky and get away with it. So the real question here is, "Is identity theft something that will never go away?", and the answer is no.

Does LifeLock Really Lock?
If you heard of a screwup by an ID Theft Prevention Company called Lifelock (yes, it's the commercials with the guy showing his social security number everywhere), they have been under high pressure due to a person who got away using the CEO's Todd Davis Social Security Number to take out money. A man from Texas was found to have actually taken $500 from an online payday loan using Davis's SSN (Social Security Number). Bad? Yes. Of course, this shows that no matter what the protection, there is always someone that someway does something to get through something that you don't want them to get into. Especially online these days, it just gets worse.

Identity Theft is really hard to fix, since many victims are put into debt by credit cards, problems by law, and other things. Identity Theft can occur many ways:

  • The simplest way is to get your ID or SSN card stolen by someone.
  • or a Online Phishing website that tricks you into giving sensative information
  • Possibly a keylogger that has gotten your account details to login anywhere with any private information of yours
  • and so much more...trust me
  • With these happening a lot more than the old days because of the improvement in technology, there is no telling how much worse (or better possibly) the future will get. Some are already thinking of just keeping their cash at home (but that too is insecure), or having locked away their SSN, ID, etc. No matter what the case, I think that Identity theft will be on forever until something good comes up.
