There are a lot of security software out there. But with so many to choose one, how do we (or you) find the best security software that are useful and are worth for what you pay for? Now first, I'm not saying that all security software suck, there might have been once in a while where the software might lag a lot your computer, crash a lot of things, or it just sucks.
Now there are a lot of Security Software Providers, now I'm going to name a few: Whew! Now that was some of them. Notice that some of these you may have never heard of, but many of these I have not used (there's a reason for that). Now continuing to the best Security Software. Norton Internet Security 2008 v2/ Norton 360 v2 While many older versions of Norton was very laggy and used a lot of system resources and caused high CPU most of the time when scanning or when it detected a virus, it has been improved in the past years. Not too long ago (like weeks ago) the new Norton Internet Security 2008 Version 2 and Norton 360 Version 2 had been released. In my expeirenced it now takes less time to scan and uses less system resources. If you don't believe a word I'm saying (or typing) then you can see for yourself. With the new GUI that it has and speed that has been finally fixed, it will prove itself once again to be a top competitor with any Anti-Virus Company. In my opinion, it will probably be the only Anti-Virus I will be using. Zone Alarm Security Suite Firewalls are the only thing missing in most of today's Security Software. Zone Alarm had proven to me that it was a great firewall, and a lot better than the crummy old one, Windows Firewall, and I got to say that because Windows Firewall was pretty useless (unless you have no firewall). Zone Alarm Security Suite has an Integrated Anti-Virus, Spyware, and Tracking Cookie scanner. Zone Alarm is good for having as a Stand Alone Security Product on your computer only, but the Anti-Virus Scanner isn't as well as I have expected. In my opinion, it's great for a firewall, but te Anti-Virus need a little working on. Link Scanner Many of us have never heard of Link Scanner. But I have to say that this Security Software is one of the best I've seen (until Norton came along :D). Anyway, this baby has everything you need for exploits. It has a real time scan engine, auto scanner when you search up on search engines, and the most important thing, an Anti-Exploit feature. While many of the features are available in a free version that works just as great as the paid one, it still proves that it's good in Anti-Exploit, which a LOT of AV Companies don't have for their Anti-Viruses. In all my time of using computers, this in my opinion is the best security software out there. Nevertheless, I have not tested every single security product there is out there, but I hope that the above listed as the best will continue on with the good software they create. If you have a different opinion please tell me so, I don't argue with anyone about this, because everyone has their own opinions, but I would love to hear yours.
