Online Storage, Safe?
Ever wonder how good are those online backup services? Services such as Mozy, XDrive, ADrive, and many more, with many of these free online backups going around, which are the safest and best to use? If you're going to hold sensitive data (considered it's not yours and a clients), servers must be protected and must have a backup almost every day. This is a concern that must be heard because now that hackers and getting sneakier than ever and possibly a step ahead of us, this shows no good for us.

Online Backup Servers are like any other server except they have strong firewalls as well as encryption is added to the uploaded data, might sound very good to you (if you're a computer beginner) but in reality, servers such as these are always getting bypassed one way or another. There is always a way around these type of encryptions and as well firewalls. Some of the most memorable server hacks have been the Issue With Microsoft Servers, Ubuntu Servers Hacked, Comcast Servers, and a lot more....Trust me.

What does this have to say about our future security? Very much, and it's not good, Online Backups Services that are given by any unknown site are mainly just to get traffic (I won't name any, but I think you could tell which ones are cheap and which ones are good) and popularity, but which ever Online Backup you use, they must be trusted and must show proof of secured severs. I mean, just about anyone would think the same way about wanting a service that is 100% legit and secured (or at least 99%).

The problem today is that websites today cannot be really trusted due to exploits and phishing. An online backup service site could look totally legit and you would end up uploading sensitive data on their phony servers. Be smart about what service you use. Paid services are always the best (of course) because you are paying for your security and storage space so it counts to pay, good online back up services are included in some software such as Norton which give you a very secured online spot for your files and can protect it well (it is an anti-virus company after all).

Would you consider to use online servers to backup your data? Or would you rather pay a online service to use it, or maybe use a free service?
