A new website called Cuil.com (pronounced "cool") made its public launch today and already calls itself the "biggest search engine on the web." Is this true or is it too soon to be calling them the "biggest search engine on the web"? The ironic thing about Cuil is that it was founded by Ex-Employees of Google, something that Google will probably be overlooking since the grand opening today.
While searching around the site, we noticed that when searching, it gives you suggestions, but amazingly, faster than Yahoo and Google. This might be better against the Big G and Yahoo, but only time will tell. As you can see on the right, that is a preview (click to view bigger) which shows a very nice GUI online that is very user and newb friendly.
Don't get too happy about your site being listed, there have been many sites that haven't been indexed even though Cuil says it has already indexed 120 billion Web pages, roughly three times as many as Google and ten times as many as Microsoft. Many pages might be old or probably moved so be sure to submit your site (if they are accepting at the moment since it it still new).
Be sure to check out the new search engine called Cuil. Who knows, maybe it might become one of the most popular search engines out there, only time will tell with this new search engine in the Internet. But I also doubt that we will be seeing any "Google Killers" out anytime soon.
