CuilIn the recent post of the opening of Cuil, a search engine opened and early named as a "Google Killer", there is many controversial talk about this project and why it could fail. Such new search engines that have opened like recent Wikia and now Cuil.

The thing is, that many new projects such as Cuil and Wikia make early assumptions and creates too much hype for everyone, including the founders and project itself. Google at this point is doing nothing because like Wikia, it will take many years for it to be used in a majority form (like a everyday search or tool like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.).

Many companies make very early assumptions about projects that are released. Like every project they must be in testing before released or a "beta" which everyone does, but they also forget to get honest opinions from different audiences. This will tell them what to add/remove or modify for certain audiences and what each audience is looking for. But it looks like Cuil didn't do that, we will see where Cuil goes in the few months...or years.

Do you think that Cuil actually has a chance to beat Google? Or at least create some competition for Google? Or will it end up like Wikia and like any other project that has early assumptions?

This will NOT win against Google. We won't be seeing a "Google killer" anytime soon.
